Songs like Hawaa Hawaii from Mr India (1987) and Mere
Haatho Mein from Chandni (1989) were performed by the dancers. It won't be
wrong to say that the evening was indeed lit up by this tribute to the
legendary actress.
A few months back, a similar tribute was paid by a
30-year old photographer, Tonu Sojatia, who pasted pictures of Sridevi
all over her car.
Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor met the girl and went emotional after seeing the
tribute paid by Tonu.
Then there was the tribute paid by singer Raveena
Mehta at the Cannes Film Festival this year where she wore two of Dimple & Amrin’s
handcrafted mixed media garments, both of which had portraits of Sridevi.
Also, there was a tribute paid by Bollywood Art
Project (BAP), who are famous for making murals of celebrities across Mumbai.
They made a big painting of Sridevi in Bandra and revealed it to the public on
the legendary actress' birth anniversary.
Last but definitely not the least, there was also a
tribute given to Sridevi by the Information And Broadcasting Ministry when they
showed some of the best films of Sridevi for over 2 days on and around her
birth anniversary.
Sridevi will soon be seen in a cameo in Aanand L Rai's
upcoming film Zero. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in
lead roles, the film is set to hit theatres this Christmas on December 21.
